Steve
Chase is the Executive Vice President of Alphanumeric Systems,
a Raleigh-based technology solutions provider
that has served the Southeast for more than three decades. Alphanumeric
has continued to grow and has been consistently recognized as
the Triangle’s
top IT Networking Company and
is a highly respected solutions provider throughout the Southeast.
Under his leadership and direction, Alphanumeric Systems
defined strategic Practice Areas in Novell, Microsoft, and Networking
& Security. The company’s commitment to these areas of
specialization is reflected in its unique position as the only
integrator
in the Southeast to be both a Novell Platinum Partner certified
in Secure Identity Management, as well as a Microsoft Managed
Gold
Partner certified at the Enterprise level. Alphanumeric’s
technical team serves public sector and commercial
entities
in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania, with a client
base that is diversified through the commercial, medical, educational
and government communities.
Steve's long-standing career
in the technology arena spans from the early ‘80s days of
document imaging to current leading-edge technologies, such as
portal and
e-procurement.
An ardent businessman
with broad technical skills, Steve has consistently focused
his energies on IT solutions that address critical business drivers—lowering
costs, increasing revenue, and mitigating risk. In his capacity
at Alphanumeric Systems, he has brought his unique industry experience
to bear, working to ensure that the company’s strategic
direction reflects best-of-breed technology solutions that
enable better,
faster, and more efficient business operations.
Steve's ability to conceptualize and
communicate the business case for new and leading technologies
has ensured Alphanumeric’s continued position as a dynamic
force in the technology industry. As a pet project in 2002, he
led a small
team of web developers to create the “Alphanumeric Demo Portal,”
which won top honors in a global technology competition sponsored
by the company’s strategic partner Novell. The demo was
also selected as one of only several innovative technologies
to be displayed
at the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s (CED) annual
InfoTech Conference in Research Triangle Park in late 2002.
His combination of business and
technical expertise have made him a sought-after speaker and panelist
in industry symposia and conferences, as well as a frequent contributor
to business publications focusing on his particular technology
areas of interest. Steve is a graduate of East Carolina University,
and serves as an active member of numerous business and civic organizations,
including North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry (NCCBI),
the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and the North Carolina
Technologies Association (NCTA).
Working with NCEITA, he has been a vocal advocate for education
in the State of North Carolina, speaking in Washington DC and other
cities on issues related to the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
legislation and closing the digital divide. Steve's most recent
appointments include Co-Chairmanship of the Rex Classic
and membership on the Board of Directors for the Raleigh Chamber
of Commerce.
